From News Center (Text by Chen Xiaoping, Scientific Research Department; Photo by Sun Ping, Scientific Research Department) On the morning of May 22, the Launch Ceremony for the Joint Establishment of the Liuzhou Academy of Philosophy and Social Sciences (LAPSS) and the Appointment Ceremony for the Fourth Batch of Social Science Think Tank Experts was held. As a key co-construction university, LZPU was invited to attend the event. Ju Hongxia, Vice President, Sun Ping, Director of the Scientific Research Department, and Li Guojun, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, attended on behalf of the university. At the ceremony, Sun Ping and Li Guojun were officially appointed to the fourth batch of social science think tank experts of the Federation of Social Sciences Circles of Liuzhou City.

In accordance with the joint construction arrangements of the Federation of Social Sciences Circles of Liuzhou City, nine specialized research institutes will be jointly developed under the “1+N” university-local government collaboration model. LZPU will play a key role in the construction of two institutes, namely the Liuzhou New Industrialization Research Institute and the China-ASEAN (Liuzhou) Research Institute for Vocational Education Industry-Education Integration. The university will carry out think tank research and social services in areas such as new industrialization, industry-education integration in vocational education, and ASEAN-oriented opening-up and cooperation.

The jointly-built platform focuses on six major fields: high-quality industrial development, ecological and green transformation, ethnic unity and progress, ASEAN-oriented opening-up, inheritance of revolutionary culture, and innovation in traditional culture. It aims to strengthen local new-type think tanks and provide solid intellectual support for Liuzhou in developing its “10+N” modern industrial system and advancing high-quality economic and social development.

LZPU’s selection as a municipal research institute co-builder and the appointment of two of its faculty members as think tank experts fully reflect the Federation of Social Sciences Circles of Liuzhou City’s high recognition of the university’s educational strength, social science research capacity, and achievements in serving local development. Taking this joint initiative as an important opportunity, LZPU will give full play to its strengths in vocational undergraduate education, innovation in industry-education integration, and ASEAN-oriented vocational education cooperation. The university will advance the development of the research institutes to a high standard, further integrate research resources, expand its academic teams, deepen university-local government collaboration, and carry out research projects, policy advisory work, and research outcome transformation. Through these efforts, LZPU will continue to enhance its capacity to serve local development and contribute its wisdom and strength to the high-quality economic and social development of Liuzhou.
